Take the leap and find your wings

My corporate job of 6 years is coming to an end. Although, I’ve been trying to leave this position for the last few years, I must say this ending is rather bittersweet. To provide some context: when I first started this job, I was dead broke, behind on bills, had mediocre credit, was on government assistance and just altogether a mess.

Flash forward to now, I’ve seen two major salary increases, am debt free (with the exception of my house), have a nearly 800 credit score, traveled to 9 different countries, and am a faithful financial steward, skillfully allocating my resources. During my time at my company, I’ve developed amazing friendships, made once in –a lifetime memories and fully grew into adulthood allowing the powerful work of the Holy Spirit to mend my wounded soul.

Yet in spite of all that, I still feel a yearning for more.

I once heard it said and believe to be true that the enemy of experiencing the best in your life is settling for good enough. Right now, I’m comfortable, stagnant and not really growing. I’ve allowed the pain of past failures and disappointment to woo me into staying where I am long past the expiration date. That apathetic attitude has come to an end.

For a while now, I’ve felt a stirring in my Spirit: a call to action and a renewed boldness to believe God to do more in my life.

Letting go of small thinking, I have resumed praying bold prayers asking God to unearth what He already placed inside of me and to grant me the right opportunities that are in alignment with my destiny.

A scripture that I have held onto since graduating from undergrad can be found in Ephesians 2:10 Amplified Bible which states:

For we are his workmanship [His own master, a work of art] created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed ready to be used] for good works which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [Living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].

COME ON NOW!!!

God has a pre- ordained plan for each of us and a GOOD life already prepared for us to live, but it’s up to us to tap into it.

This summer, I’m committed to taking leaps of faith, forgoing what’s comfortable for that which is remarkable and finding my wings in the process. I look forward to sharing this journey with you and hope that you too find the courage to soar right alongside me.

Xo,

Ash
